SPEAK
FOR ANIMALS |

chained dog campaign This is your chance to make a difference in the ongoing struggle to curtail the ever-growing population of lonely and neglected animals. Together, we go in groups, into neighborhoods and seek out chained and lonely dogs in need of some TLC. We are only "armed" with information, spay/neuter vouchers and big smiles!! We politely offer our services to needy and, more often than not, appreciative pet guardians. Our goals are to: 1. speak with and develop trusting relationships with animal guardians, 2. give out free flea treatment, toys, treats and new collars (if needed) 3. offer free spay/neuter services, as well as shots 4. discuss ways of enhancing their animals' lives and alternatives to their animals living on chains 24/7. Suggestions about specific neighborhoods we should target are always helpful. Check out our SFA Events page for our next Campaign. And feel free to invite and bring out as many people as you can! Any pet accessories you may have laying around the house (food, water bowls, treats, collars, etc.) are greatly appreciated. Don't have anything to bring? Don't worry - we will provide you with some. We cannot rest until it is illegal to chain a dog. Only through legislation can we truly help animals. So please help us! When you see an animal mistreated or on a chain, call your local Animal Control. Call your County Council representatives, as well. Speak out! Chained dogs every where will appreciate it.

On the morning of Saturday, July
14, 2007 eight of us set off to targeted areas that had lots of dogs on
chains.
We left after a hot day, feeling
elated in that we gave out 21 vouchers for free spay/neuters. We were told, "God sent you, because I couldn't afford to get her spayed." People
welcomed us and allowed us to enter their world for a few moments. Fewer
unwanted dogs and cats will be born because of our efforts.
