CHECK OUT WHAT HAPPENED AT OUR MARCH MEETING
A REALISTIC PICTURE OF GREENVILLE COUNTY’S PET
OVERPOPULATION
This presentation focused on the new
relationship between Greenville Humane Society and
the County of Greenville’s Animal Care Services
Division. This workshop reviewed many of
the protocols upheld by Animal Care Service’s
receiving facility and common public misconception
of these policies and procedures. A frank
discussion of animal euthanasia and community
responsibilities was examined, as well as ideas
to effect change.
Shelly Simmons has worked in the animal care field
for over 10 years. Her career started as a
Humane Agent for a non-profit humane society in
northeast Ohio. For many years, she focused
her efforts on animal cruelty investigation and
prosecution, and later served as the Shelter
Manager and Director of Operations. In 2007,
she and her family moved to Greenville, SC, where
she is currently helping animals as the Division
Manager for the County of Greenville’s Animal Care
Services Division
